Location: North Houston, TX
The Halliburton North Campus redevelopment project consists of the construction of additional buildings, water, sanitary, storm, and roadway infrastructure. The 120-acre site is located in north Houston within two miles of the Bush Intercontinental Airport, housing multiple office building and testing facilities. A portion of the site is located within the floodplain of Greens Bayou.
WGA provides design services related to drainage, grading, utility and roadway that facilitates the ultimate development for the site. This included the design of Morales Road, a 0.5-mile public roadway collector street helping to move traffic within and around the campus area. The roadway project includes the construction of a main storm sewer designed to serve storm water runoff from approximately half of the overall campus.
WGA designed improved access along the North Beltway 8 feeder road, including the design of dedicated turn lanes to facilitate access onto the campus. The firm also coordinated the design and approval of these features with the Texas Department of Transportation, the City of Houston and Harris County.
As part of the project, WGA also designed an eight-acre regional detention pond that provides a centralized location for stormwater detention and floodplain mitigation required for the ultimate site development. WGA prepared various drainage reports to support the design for the re-development of the site, including conveyance impact analysis and storm water detention studies. These designs and drainage studies have been coordinated with the appropriate regulatory agencies for approvals.
WGA established appropriate finished floor elevations for proposed new structures to ensure compliance with current City of Houston and Harris County floodplain development criteria. Additionally, WGA provided design services for proposed new water, sanitary sewer and storm facilities, as well as the relocation of existing facilities, to accommodate new development on the campus.
