ABOUT THE PROJECT
Waltrip High School opened in 1959 in the Oak Forest neighborhood in north Houston. The school offers a Research & Technology Magnet Program to prepare all students to be college or career ready. The $22.6 M renovation of Waltrip High School included the renovation and partial replacement of the 54-year-old campus, with architecturally significant portions of the school to be retained. Waltrip was one of three schools involved with the Houston ISD 2012 Bond Program that accommodated 1,800-2,000 students.
