Richard Fontenot joined WGA in 2021.  He began his career as an environmental scientist working in coastal Louisiana, after graduating with a degree in chemistry and biology. For the next decade, Richard was predominantly focused on providing private land developers and energy clients with favorable jurisdictional wetlands and waters determinations and sensible mitigation solutions, throughout the Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coast region. Over the course of his career, Richard has also provided clients with operations and brownfield redevelopment solutions including air quality, waste management, spill response, and remediation services.

Currently he is focused on providing comprehensive permitting and compliance strategies throughout Texas, Louisiana, and New Mexico, representing both public and private clients. Richard has a passion for simplifying the regulatory burdens placed on developers, and providing an all-inclusive, straightforward pathway to project completion.
