ABOUT THE PROJECT
Daikin Industries, Ltd., the leading global manufacturer in heating, cooling, and refrigerant products, expanded its Goodman operations in the United States by constructing a new state-of-the-art business campus outside of Houston. The $417 million campus (the largest single investment in Goodman’s four-decade history) features an over four millionSF tilt-up concrete building, the world’s largest. Daikin requested that all functions be housed in the same structure, thus the building incorporates a 1.8-million-SF distribution center, 1.7 million SF of manufacturing space (plus 196,500 SF of mezzanine), 231,598 SF of lab space, and a 202,600-SF office. The 497-acre site also features parking for approximately 5,000 vehicles. The new facility includes one of the largest and most technologically advanced HVAC manufacturing facilities in the country. WGA was selected to provide civil engineering services for the project, including site civil engineering, roadway civil engineering, traffic impact analysis, drainage study, and water and wastewater plant design.
