ABOUT THE PROJECT
Prepared construction plan sets for roadway project to serve the as a major thoroughfare corridor in Waller and Fort Bend Counties, Texas. The design included extending the existing four-lane concrete boulevard with curb-and-gutter south from Interstate Highway 10. Traffic control and construction phasing figured prominently in the implementation of the project. The design incorporated special drainage infrastructure to accommodate a large amount of off-site flows that are being conveyed along and across the roadway rights-of-way. Coordination with the Waller and Fort Bend County engineering departments occurred to confirm acceptance of design. Appropriate right-of-way was acquired to facilitate the project. The roadway crossed a major petrochemical pipeline corridor. Coordination of this crossing was performed to obtain approval for the respective pipeline companies.
