ABOUT THE PROJECT

The city-within-a-city, Memorial City is a premier mixed-use development owned and managed by MetroNational. WGA provided civil engineering on this project consisting of 7,600,000 SF of developed real estate across 265 acres for several years. The development includes Class A office space, retail, and upscale hotel accommodations.

The mixed-use development includes the following notable structures:

Air Liquide Headquarters 20-story, 452,000-SF tower + adjacent 145,000-SF building
Nexen Building
Murphy Oil Building
Hotel ZaZa 17 stories, 159 guest rooms, and 10,000 SF of event and meeting spaces for up to 300 people. Hotel ZaZa also houses 130 apartment units. Amenities include two outdoor pools, a spa and a restaurant lounge.

Other improvements on the site include new parking garages to serve the increased parking needs of the office buildings and replacing a small shopping center on the east side of the development along Bunker Hill. Civil responsibilities included site design, paving, drainage, stormwater quality, utility layout, LEED design, traffic impact analysis, utility capacity auditing, and detention research of exemption.
