WGA provided civil engineering services on Southwestern Energy Company’s (SWN) corporate headquarters campus north of Houston. The campus is located on 25 acres just south of The Woodlands near the intersection of I-45 North and the planned Grand Parkway. As part of the developing Springwoods Village, the 500,000 SF building consolidates all of SWN’s more than 1,000 Houston-area employees into an energy-efficient and sustainably designed campus.

Faced with challenges due to the narrow size of the land, north-south orientation, and proximity to the freeway, the design team utilized a curtain wall system and horizontal shading fins along the predominate elevations and constructed thoughtful landscaping amid the natural environment. Designed by Gensler to foster greater collaboration, creativity and innovation and to support Southwestern’s family-like culture, the workplace has private offices as well as shared workstations and collaboration areas. The headquarters includes a conference center, wellness center, full-service dining facility, and other employee amenities.

SWN’s Corporate Headquarters was honored with a 2015 Landmark Award (Corporate Headquarters Move) by the Houston Business Journal.
